How egg hatching works

Every egg has a base hatch time (10 min for Common, up to 8h for Zen Egg). Helper pets in your garden reduce the hatch time by their boost percentage. Boosts add together additively, capped at 90% reduction. The formula:

finalHatchTime = baseTime × (1 − min(0.9, totalBoost))

Example: Bug Egg base 4h with all 5 hatch helpers (+57%)
       = 4h × (1 − 0.57) = 4h × 0.43 = 1h 43m

FAQs

How is hatch time calculated in Grow a Garden?
Final hatch time = baseSeconds × (1 − totalBoostPercent / 100). Total boost is capped at 90%, so the minimum hatch time is always 10% of the egg's base time. Boost percentages from helper pets and eggs add together additively.
What are the best hatch-helper pets?
Sunny Side Chicken (+15%), Rooster (+12%, common from Uncommon Egg), Blood Kiwi (+12%), Bald Eagle (+10%), Kiwi (+8%). Combine all five for +57% (43% remaining time). Add the egg-specific helpers for higher boosts.
Do helper bonuses stack additively or multiplicatively?
Additively. 5 helpers at +15%/+12%/+12%/+10%/+8% give exactly +57% total, capped at +90%. NOT 1 − (1 − 0.15)(1 − 0.12)... compound formula.
What's the fastest possible egg hatch?
Any egg at the 90% boost cap = 10% of base time. Common Egg (10 min base) hatches in 1 minute. Zen Egg (8 hours base) hatches in 48 minutes. Past 90% there's no further benefit, so don't bother stacking 6+ helpers.
Can I hatch multiple eggs at once?
Yes — stack as many incubators as you have unlocked. Helpers boost ALL eggs hatching simultaneously, so the optimal play is bulk hatching during a high-helper session.
Do helpers need to be a specific weight or age?
No — the boost percentage is fixed regardless of helper weight or age. A hatch-1 Rooster gives the same +12% as a max-age Rooster. So feed your hatch helpers to your active garden pets for XP, doesn't affect their hatch boost.
Is the boost cap the same for all eggs?
Yes, 90% cap is universal. Even with 100% theoretical boost, you cap at 90% reduction = 10% remaining time.
