Trade Tokens vs Sheckles — Grow a Garden Currency Guide (2026)
Why Grow a Garden has TWO currencies. Trade Tokens for pet trades, Sheckles for crops. Conversion myths, when to use which, and why community calculators report values differently.
TL;DR
Sheckles = harvest currency. Buy seeds, sell crops, upgrade plot.
Trade Tokens = trade currency. Pet-to-pet exchange in Trade World.
There is NO fixed conversion between them. They are separate economies with separate inflation rates. Most beginner confusion in 2026 trading comes from mixing the two.

Trade Tokens — the trade economy
Trade Tokens were introduced with the Trade World update in 2025. They exist to enable peer-to-peer pet trading without Sheckle inflation gating.

Why no conversion rate
Roblox Grow a Garden devs explicitly do NOT offer a fixed Sheckle ↔ Token exchange. Reasons:
1. **Anti-inflation**: Sheckles inflate fast (mid-game players hit billions/hour). Tokens stay scarce.
2. **Trade purity**: Tokens are minted at Trade Booths only — supply matches trade demand.
3. **Whale separation**: A trader with 1B Sheckles can't flood the pet market because they'd need to mint tokens via actual trades first.
This is similar to Robux vs in-game currency in many Roblox games — two parallel economies on purpose.
Common confusions in community
"How many Sheckles is 1 Token?"
No answer. Some discords use loose ratios like "1 Token ≈ 50K Sheckles" but this drifts daily based on trade volume. Don't rely on it.
"Why does my pet sell for X Sheckles but trade for Y Tokens?"
Pet shop sale (Sheckles) and Trade World listing (Tokens) are separate transactions. Pet shop pays a flat Sheckle price (low). Trade World gives you market rate Tokens (higher).
"Is 100K tokens equal to 100K Sheckles?"
NO. Tokens are an order of magnitude more valuable in absolute terms. A 100K Token pet is endgame; 100K Sheckles is a beginner harvest.
