Cookie Policy
Last updated: .
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. This page lists every cookie that can turn up while you browse GAG Calc, who sets it and what it is for. It complements our Privacy Policy.
GAG Calc sets no cookies of its own
The site is a set of static pages with no login and no saved preferences, so we have nothing to store on your device. Every cookie below is set by one of two third parties: Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the site, or Google, which serves the advertising.
Cookies you may receive
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Distinguishes humans from bots so the site stays reachable during automated traffic spikes. | 30 minutes | Strictly necessary |
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Records that a visitor passed a security challenge, so the challenge is not shown again. | Up to 1 year | Strictly necessary |
| __gads / __gpi | Google AdSense | Measures how often an ad is shown to the same browser and limits repeats of the same ad. | Up to 13 months | Advertising |
| IDE / test_cookie | Google (doubleclick.net) | Measures ad performance and, with consent, personalises which ads are shown. | Up to 13 months | Advertising |
| FCCDCF / FCNEC | Google consent platform | Stores the advertising consent choice you made, so you are not asked on every page. | Up to 13 months | Consent |
Names and lifetimes are set by Google and Cloudflare and can change without notice on their side. Exact, current values for the advertising cookies are published by Google at business.safety.google/adscookies.
Turning advertising cookies off
- Google Ads Settings — switch off ad personalisation across Google’s network.
- aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu — industry-wide opt-out tools.
- If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, use the “Privacy & cookie settings” link in the consent message shown on your first visit to change your choice at any time.
- Every browser can block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking the strictly necessary Cloudflare cookies may mean you are challenged more often before pages load.
Blocking advertising cookies does not remove the ads — it means the ads you see are chosen without reference to your browsing history.
